1. We here at Sanctuary have certain literacy standard. This means that we don’t want to see you talking like your texting your best friend. If you wouldn’t turn it in to a teacher, then please respect us and give us the same courtesy. Simple 'lol' and things like that are perfectly fine in the cbox however, however, please none of the 'ur', 'da' 'tho' and things like that. Spell your words out, it isn't that difficult.
2. We have decided to enforce a strict word count. We require AT LEAST 450 words per roleplay post, no less. We will be monitoring posts, and if we see one that looks a little short, we will investigate further. Your first offense we will let slip, your second offense you will receive a warning in a private message. Further offenses will be dealt with as admins see fit. Any roleplayer worth their salt can meet this requirement, it's not even a full word page and really, 450 words isn't that difficult to push out. Go above and beyond, exceed expectations, we like to see tings like that.
3. Other than in the Cbox, please remember to use some form of OOC so we can differentiate between character and roleplayer. Be it whatever way you are more comfortable with, just give us a clue. Be it the classic double parenthesis, the asterisks, or the dashes, or just simple ooc; bic;.
4. The IC Cbox is a place for quick and random interactions with characters, not major plot points. Basically, IC is a place for the everyday 'this and that' conversations, a place to test and see how characters would interact, and an overall place to just have fun. When a setting is given for the Cbox, we request that all characters stay in that setting, and we ask that ALL IC interactions are kept at a PG level. Cursing is fine, because that is a part of everyday conversations with teens, but please, beyond that, keep it clean. ALL POSTS IN IC MUST BE IN CHARACTER.
5. When and if you decide to apply for Sanctuary, please keep in mind that we do look at things like grammatical errors and typos. No, we will not reject you because of them, but we will expect them to be fixed in order to be accepted. If we happen to find major and repetitive errors in an application, we will ask you via private message to correct them, and your application will be moved into the Declined board. If you repost in the Finished Application board and everything mentioned isn’t fixed that we have found wrong with an application, we then reserve the right to reject you.
6. Godmoding and Powerplaying. we shouldn’t have to say anything about this… but we will just in case. It’s a no-no. If you must do either of these things, please discuss it with your partner before doing so. Make sure they are okay with it. We each have our own characters here, respect those boundaries.
7. Limits. Please be accepting of others limits, and the limits ProBoards put into place. We can't promise there won't be swearing and a little violence, but please, make sure what you do is in the lines of our rules and the rules of Proboards. Anything that may be considered not appropriate for sensitive eyes, mark the thread with an M in the title, such as threads with more than your average amount of violence.
8. Be accepting of others. Not everyone in the world is like you, and that is normal. Embrace the differences rather than looking down on them. Each person has their own personality and way of living. Don’t hate on them because you don’t understand it.
9. Be accepting of others also applies to being accepting of their characters. If someone has created a character who is, say, homosexual, or someone who doesn't reflect your values and beliefs, we will not tolerate any hate. You have been warned. Likewise, don’t ignore a person’s character just because you don’t like them.
10. We like to have a civil and harmonious environment, but we understand not everything is sunshine and rainbows. If you feel you have been disrespected or that you are being harassed by another member, please follow the standard protocol of private messaging an administrator, and if the offense is something truly nasty, get a screencap of whatever it is that has happened and we will allow you to send the screencap to us. We will handle these situations swiftly and with tact, so there is no need for any type of retaliation by members. Drama is best dealt with quickly and efficiently, and that is exactly how it will be handled.
11. Make sure to plot with people. No one likes it when they make a character and they never get any use. They put time and effort into writing the application, just as you did. And seeing them ignored because they aren’t as popular is not what we’re looking for here. This is a place to have fun, not shun characters.
12. Going along with that rule, when you thread with someone, make sure you tag them. Let people know who is involved so they don’t barge in on something you planned with another person. If you want an open thread, make sure you say that it’s open. And if someone trespasses on a thread they weren’t meant to be in, let us know. We will take care of things.
13. When you register, please make your username the name of your character, and put your display name in this format: First MiddleInitial. Last. EX: Harry J. Potter. This makes it uniform and easier to know who you are.
14. Before you have been accepted, please refrain from posting anywhere other than the CBox. This is just for the sake of being organized and orderly.
15. This is very important! Once your character has been accepted, you have two weeks to thread with your character. We don't want you to make a character, have them accepted, then never do anything with them again. Ask around for threads, there is bound to be someone more than willing to thread with you. This also applies to relationships, we like to ask that each character have at least three relationships with other characters, whether they be friends, lovers, enemies, whatever.
Also with this rule, if you happen to want to apply for a professor, you must contact us and request the teaching position.
16. Going along with rule 14, we request that threads be replied to within two weeks time, if not we will consider the thread dead and it will be moved accordingly. However, we do understand that life can get hectic sometimes, and if you tell us that you won't be able to be online very much do to this or that reason, we will be more than understanding.
17. Talk to us! The Cbox is there for a reason. Not just to tell people we posted! It’s there so we can get to know who is maybe thinking about applying, or answering questions, or having a conversation. we know it’s easier to be silent than to let us know of your presence. But we assure you, we don’t bite.
If you think you can follow these rules, or if you aren’t entirely intimidated by them or us, please continue on in your reading! And remember! Have fun! Roleplaying isn’t supposed to be all serious all the time. It’s an outlet to have fun and enjoy yourself.

**IMPORTANT: If a character happens to be the only character in a group or they really don't have a place/reason to thread yet, such as the only Ministry Worker, Necromancer, or Sacrifice, you will not be required to immediately start roleplaying with them, but they will still count toward your character limit, because later in the plot they will be used heavily. If you have any questions on the matter, PM Punky or Steph and we will give you the final verdict.**
