FULL NAME:
NICKNAMES: Known as Dannyboy and Dannypuff by his older sister. Has no real preference towards what others call him, however; like many other Daniels in the world, those he meets have a tendency to either stick with Dan, or simply Daniel.
WRAPPED UP INSIDE YOU
--------------------I WANNA BREAK MY LEGS
FACE DESCRIPTION:
IN CASE OF THOUGHT TO ESCAPE
--------------------KEEP THE HAMMER OUT OF MY REACH
PATRONUS:
Daniel is a quiet boy who, despite loving to make friends, would much rather be cooped up in a library with a good book. While he is far from shy, the written word has such a grasp on him that he can sometimes forget to eat or sleep. Because of this literacy addiction, he is often heard quoting a passage he read or stating a seemingly random fact in the middle of a conversation, or sometimes as an ice-breaker. It goes without saying that Daniel is also extremely focused on his academics, and is only ever seen in a particularly foul mood when he can’t seem to understand something in class, or when he feels he is being mocked by another student for being unable to get the hang of whatever he’s attempting to learn.
With such a strong flare for the academic field, it may come as a surprise to most to learn that Daniel isn’t a Ravenclaw. However, here is where the Hufflepuff traits he possesses come into play. While extremely serious about receiving high marks, Daniel is not at all concerned with how much better he does than other students; rather, he only seems to care for beating his own personal best. Extremely loyal to his friends and family, there is no circumstance that comes to mind in which Daniel would abandon any of his loved ones for his own safety, even if the situation meant ridicule, being injured, or even loss of life. He is impartial towards others, and will make friends with anybody that doesn’t seem to be an especially dark person. Also like a Hufflepuff, he rarely quick to anger, and takes life in stride.
Although he has lost much of the hyperactivity he possessed as a child, certain things will still get Daniel extremely excited. A lover of animals, Daniel will always stop in his tracks to pet a wizard’s dog or cat (even strays!), and will more often than not have to be pulled away from his friends after a certain amount of time. If not for his extreme fear of Dark Magic pushing him into his DADA expertise, it would safe to say that Daniel would seek a profession in the Care of Magical Creatures field. He is also excited by brand new literature from his favorite authors, learning new DADA spells, and receiving especially high marks, which he will blather on and on about until a friend shuts him up.
While Daniel is not especially funny, often relying on puns or inside jokes as some form of humor, he enjoys spending time with those that can make him laugh so hard he can’t breathe, or bring tears to his eyes; even the most serious of students needs a good break and for Daniel, it’s one of the most important aspects of his life.

IF MY POUNDING IMPULSE COMES
--------------------WRAPPED UP INSIDE YOUR ARMS...
NATIONALITY:
“Hey, I hear she’s Scottish. Maybe that’s the kind of girl I need, you know?”
“Ain’t she from Hogwarts or some shit?”
“Final year. Legal enough.” Still, his friend had made a point, albeit not the one he intended to. A smart girl like that could only be looking for a smart guy. And, well...school had never exactly been Henry’s ‘thing’ so to speak. So what could he do to make himself memorable? He sighed, annoyed. At the time, she was still speaking to the Captain, Finnigus. Head Boy back in his day, along with being Captain of the Scottish Quidditch Team...jealousy resulted in quick action with little though, which would explain Henry’s nosedive to the ground, masterfully maneuvering his broom to swoop by the part of the field where the two stood, taking Annabel into his arms swiftly (and mid-question) and the two rocketed back into the atmosphere.
Oh, Annabel freaked out. While having taken a few classes and knowing how to ride a broom, she wasn’t exactly a fan of being up in the air being supported by something as flimsy as a broom. She screamed, she struggled, and made to sure to land a smack square on Henrys’ face upon the two (finally) making it back to the ground. In tose few moments, she hated the man, who simply stood there and laughed, not exactly understanding the borderline heart attack he had almost given to the student. When you live to be airborne, the idea of being scared of heights was more of a myth than an actual possibility.
Still, despite the frightening experience, Henry’s initial plan worked; the rugged-looking man with his wavy black hair and caramel eyes with the contagious laugh and strong arms remained heavily in her mind. But, at seventeen, what could she expect? Henry was probably a married man, who knew that literally swooping a girl off of her feet would definitely secure an article or two featuring himself. And yet, despite what she thought to be her better judgement, began seeing Henry more and more for interviews, paying special attention to what he hd to say during group interviews and taking down everything he said in private.
After oh-so-many ‘interviews’, which involved candle-lit dinners and long strolls in the wooded areas around the fields when he wasn’t out practicing, it didn’t take long for the two to strike up a very private relationship. Nine years her senior, Henry was aware of how dating a seventeen-year-old might effect his public imagine. And, every time he considered breaking things off, she would do something, anything - a snort in the middle of a laugh or the proud smile that would cross her face when she managed to identify twenty different types of leaves on their strolls - made him care less and less about what the papers had to say. So, with Annabel’s consent months after their initial meeting, the two made their love public, which was soon eaten up and spit back out by the presses.
Perhaps it was because of the goals he would score in the Quidditch games he competed in, or maybe it was her constant love and distraction, but the firepower delivered by the papers didn’t seem quite as bad as he would expect. As a matter of fact, when the Scottish team eventually lost to Bulgaria in the tournament that year, he was blasted far more for his failures than he was for his scandalous relationship. Simply how a journalist’s mind works, or so Annabel had told him as they lay naked in bed the night of the loss. They go for what might land them the most respect amongst their peers and bosses.
He wouldn’t let her fade away from him. Eventually, the Scottish team would have to move on, going back to training and competing for the next event. Which would mean the end of Annabel’s job. Which would mean never seeing her again. So, when Henry proposed, mere months into their relationship, it was a shock, to say the absolute least. What was even more shocking was how quickly Annabel was to say yes.
After the chilly January of their marriage, after a little over a year of engagement and living together, Henry and Annabel started to share their lives together as Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fairbairn, in 1994. However, the peace only lasted for so long before the return of Voldemort, and, much later, the boy destined to stop him. The prospect of starting a family was put off for what felt like centuries; even after the defeat, the world seemed too cruel, too evil, to bring a child into it. However, it was perhaps Annabel’s unexpected pregnancy that kept the two from holding on to this idea forever.
Juliet Aspen Fairbairn was born on a delightfully sunny day. Having been born into the family with a full head of black hair, like both her parents, the little girl was a positive influence on the world from the day she was born. She would cry and poop and wake up in the middle of the night, of course; no baby is that perfect. However, she had been enough of a pleasure to her parents for the first three years of her life to inspire Annabel and Henry to have another.
Daniel, in his earliest years, cried far more than his sister. It’s not to say that he was just a generally unhappy baby; when surrounded by loved ones, namely his sister, he would giggle and smile for hours on end. Most would just claim him as “clingy”. Even as the crying slowed over the years, the clingyness was never a phase Daniel grew out of; to this day, he stills holds on to his friends like a security blanket.
The youngest of the two Fairbairn children, Daniel was initially a very hyperactive child upon reaching his toddler, due to being so stuck on his older sister and, when said sister is three years your senior and a future Slytherin, well, it was a little difficult to keep up. This hyperness getting him in quite a bit of a struggle more than a few times (namely the incident which caused him to break his leg, in what the two called an “extreme game of tag” along a particularly rocky seashore.)Looking up to his sister, Juliet, like she was a kind of God, young Daniel did whatever he could to morph himself into an adventurous, restless human being with a curiosity that he could only hope to mimic just a fraction of what his sister possessed. And maybe this continuous act would have worked, had his sister never gone away.
Life changed dramatically for young Daniel when his sister left for Hogwarts. Suddenly, the rambunctious motivator of his life was gone, leaving behind a little boy that didn’t know what he was like all by himself. The spirit of things was gone; exploration of the woods was really just a lonesome stroll when you didn’t have somebody running ahead of you claiming to know the location of a secret unicorn resting place just a few miles ahead. Without that ball of energy and creativity, Daniel retreated from the outdoors; while enjoying the silence that the forest areas gave him, the memories of his sister were just too strong to bear alone.
With Juliet gone, Daniel had taken to a few more solitary activities; writing, drawing, a bit of signing. But all were abandoned when he stumbled upon a world that his sister had never bothered to explain; the world of reading.
He didn’t read for facts or to learn. Not initially, no. What truly drew him in was the fantastical stories that authors wrote about. Ancient wizards and witches, and the stories of magical princesses and dragon-taming knights. Pirates. Magical beings that could talk, when they didn’t in nature. Mermaids especially interested Daniel, the idea that something could be so human, yet more magical than he or any wizard could even imagine; even the pure-blooded ones! And when his mother introduced him to muggle literature, well, little Danny was hooked.
Weeks turned into months; Months, years. And soon, right after he celebrated his eleventh birthday, Daniel received the same exact letter his sister had at his age. Oh, the excitement! Not only would their be more books for Daniel to read, but he would also be allowed to pend more time with Juliet, as opposed to only being able to see her when she came home for Christmas and Summer. These thoughts swirled through his mind all-throughout the long, long nap he had taken on his very first train ride to school, tucked up neatly against Juliet with his head in her lap with Babbitty snoozing in his cage in the seat across from them.
The Great Hall was humongous. Made to fit what looked to young, tiny Daniel like a million students, he, among many first-years, had been packed into the Hall one by one, where they were to be sorted into four different houses by the mystical Sorting Hat.
He remembered his nerves upon hearing his name called, which only increased as he sat, which seemed all for naught once the hat had cried out “Hufflepuff!” just seconds after sitting. And, as the room broke into applause, he gingerly took his seat, ready to start the adventure so many other wizards had gone on before him.
it was during his first year of Hogwarts that all, including the teachers, could not help but occasionally wonder what it was about Daniel that kept him from being a Ravenclaw. He longed for knowledge, no doubt about that. Stuffing himself in libraries for hours on end for his own enjoyment...Well, it was a Ravenclaw thing, wasn’t it? And then, these questioning individuals would stop their pondering as Daniel would cross the room to hel out a student who was clearly struggling, only to blush and stammer as the student would, every time, compliment his smarts. Intelligence might have been enough to get most into the Ravenclaw house, but Daniel’s levels of modesty and kindness could only be found within the heart of a Hufflepuff.
For the most part, Daniel’s school life has been nothing exciting. He had his close friends, and was one of the best in his year amongst those who studies Defense Against the Dark Arts, but overall, nothing to write seven books about. Now, in his sixth year, he looks forward to graduating and keeping the Dark Arts maintained, if not completely extinct all together.

LOCKED UP INSIDE YOU
--------------------HOLD ME DOWN 'CAUSE I WANT TO KNOW YOU
NAME/ALIAS:
A short-statured wizard, it would come to no surprise to Daniel if nobody saw him that day, his head burrowed in a book half his size and twice his weight as he sat, Indian-styled, in one of the libraries unbelievably cozy chairs. To be fair, he probably wouldn’t have noticed them, either. He was was too concentrated on what the book at to say which greatly detailed the ruins left behind by different Nomadic people in their time, and what they could possibly relate to.
Still, even if distraction was rare for young Daniel, the diseased-sounding Mrrrrrrrow of a cat brought him out of his concentrating. The loud Thump of something hitting a nearby bookshelf only confirmed Daniel’s beliefs.
“Babbitty!” he cried softly, place the book down upon the floor as he approached the source of the noise. He could have sworn he had shut his room down securely before leaving, and even so, how did the cat manage to escape the dorms itself? Either way, here the calico was, once again walking into the same exact edge she had bumped against less than a minute ago. Daniel sighed. He loved the cat, truly, but it was almost worse than taking care of an infant, he was sure. Almost.
"C'mon, Babs." Picking up the cat from the floor, Daniel earned himself a displeased grumble for his pet as he left the library, the creature tucked away in his arms as he made his way back to the Hufflepuff Common Room. He was a scholar first, or so he told himself, and a babysitter second. Daniel loved all his friends, regardless of species, but then again, he wouldn't be the one to get in trouble if it was one of his human friends constantly bashing their face into a bookshelf.
Murmuring the password to the portrait guarding the common room, which also allowed access to a very confused First Year, Daniel made his way to his currently empty room, where he deposited the cat. "You're a pain, you know that?" The cat only mewed in acknowledgement.
Well. There was no real point in heading back to the library now, since Babbitty was seemingly so keen on escaping today. Plopping down in his bed, Daniel reached into his nightstand, where he removed a small fantasy novel he had been paging through. Upon lifting the book to his face, however, Babbitty jumped upon the bed with him, causing the novel to fall out of Daniel's hands as he jumped off guard.
"Babbitty, darn it, stop!" cried Daniel again, unable to keep the sought bell of laughter from ringing in his words. Babs truly did amuse him. However, there was reading to get done and...and...and...
"Oh!" Springing to his feet, Daniel clamored over to his wardrobe, where he pulled out a yellow and black scarf. Lunch! He had lunch with his friends and he had almost forgotten. Again.
Daniel approached his fluffy companion with a smile, bending down to kiss the cat's forehead as he stroked her multi-colored fur. "Be right back." he promised and, with that, scurried out of the room and to the Great Hall to meet up with his beloved (human) friends.
